Gradient Friday : Holo

For today's gradient Friday, I decided to start off with A-England Saint George as my base color. This is the second polish I picked up from their new The Legends collection and it is absolutely gorgeous.
Saint George is a stunning dark teal soft scattered holographic polish and was opaque in one coat. It glided on effortlessly and drying time was quick. I used China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out, a light blue holographic polish, and sponged it on the tips for an easy gradient look.

I ordered two of these gorgeous holographic polishes from A-England The Legends line when I first heard about them. They arrived very quickly and I am happy to show you the first one! A-England Princess Sabra is a gorgeous mossy greenish-gold holographic polish which applied nicely. It took 2 coats to be opaque. This polish is so pretty and you know I love my holos! How About a Tumble

This gorgeous gorgeous holographic pink polish is another one of my lemmings. I bought this a little while back from a fellow blogger. China Glaze How About a Tumble is a 3 coater and applied very nicely. I attached more pictures than usual because it is so mesmerizing. If you ever see this or any polishes from this line anywhere, PICK IT UP. I promise you it's worth it!

Tickle My Triangle

This has got to be one of the most gorgeous pink holos I own. I could stare at it all day. China Glaze Tickle my Triangle is a gorgeous medium pink holographic polish. It applies super smoothly and was opaque in 2 coats. Although this is already discontinued, many bloggers are selling them and you can also find it on ebay. If neither option suits you and your lemming for it is high, try dusty hunting! You will be surprised at what you can find sometimes. Thanks for reading. I am going back to staring at my fingers.

Dark Brown Sparkle

Here are some swatches for the base color I used from last Friday’s gradient. Glitter Gal Dark Brown Sparkle is a stunning chocolate brown holographic polish that applied very smoothly. It was opaque in 2 coats and adding a top coat doesn’t diminish the awesomeness. This is the first Glitter Gal polish I have tried, and I am happy to say it won’t be the last. This polish is just amazing.

PS – something exciting will be unveiled Thursday! Stay tuned.

Polish was sent to me for review. All opinions are my own.

Cozy Gradient Friday

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.
Those lyrics were stuck in my head this week because Christmas songs are playing everywhere. This inspired me to make a warm, cozy, chestnut colored gradient for this Friday, so I hope you like it. I started off with 2 coats of Glitter Gal
Dark Brown Sparkle which is a chocolate holographic brown polish. Next, I sponged on Revlon Gold Coin which is a foil gold polish. Lastly, I dabbed on China Glaze Cheers to You on the tips. I blended this in using a coat of China Glaze Snow Globe and sealed it off with CND Super Shiney.
Keep warm everyone!

Lady of the Lake

This polish is one of my favourite purple holos of all time. A-England Lady of the Lake is a gorgeous medium purple holographic polish that applied extremely smoothly. It was opaque in 2 coats and the dry time was great. With Christmas coming up, this would be a perfect stocking stuffer or mini present! They offer free shipping worldwide and their site is found here.

Pink Blush Diamond

Hurray! I finally got my hands on a Sally Hansen Nail Prism! I have read so much about them so I wanted to try them out for myself. Sally Hansen Nail Prism Pink Blush Diamond is a soft pink holographic polish that was opaque in 3 medium coats. The formulation was quite smooth and the dry time was decent. This reminded me of OPI DS Reserve but a tad bit lighter. This is quite nice and I am glad to add it to my collection. I am just adding the finishing touches on the giveaway. I promise it will be up by the end of this week!

It's ShowTime

Nothing says showtime like silver holographic polish. It is just plain mesmerizing. I bought this Sally Hansen Showtime off Polish Obsessed and I am so glad I did! Sally Hansen Showtime is a gorgeous linear silver holographic polish. It is a bit on the thin side, so it needed 4 thin coats to be opaque.

How does it compare to China Glaze OMG? See for yourself. I used OMG on my index and ring finger. The amount of holo just does not compare. How did China Glaze make their old formulation so holo-y? I love it. Please bring it backkkk. If any polish addicts out there has an extra bottle of any of the old China Glaze Kaleidoscope and OMG line and they are willing to part with it, let me know. For now, I will stare at my Showtime nails.

Hawaiian Holographic Gradient

I am back from Hawaii with an inspired gradient for all of you! The trip was great and I took so many photos. Hopefully I can translate some of my gorgeous photos into nail art for you all. This one is inspired by the colors on the side during the middle phase of sunrise which I got to enjoy in Haleakala National Park at 10000 feet elevation.

I used Milani 3D Holographic Cyberspace as my base coat. This took 2 medium coats to be opaque but the formulation was smooth. Next I painted Milani 3D Holographic Digital on the top half of my nail and used Wet N Wild Clear Nail Protector to blend it in. I picked up both of these nail polishes in Hawaii as I do not have anything from the 3D Holographic line from Milani.

Finally, for the design, I stamped on a Hawaiian flower using BM16 on my ring finger with Wet N Wild Black Crème. On the rest of the fingers, I painted palm tree leaves using Milani Nail Art in Black Sketch 703. This has to be one of the best nail art brushes I have used thus far. The polish did not overload the brush, it was easy to handle and it painted nice crisp lines. I love this!

Hope you got to enjoy some sun as well Polish Addicts, wherever you all are!

Milani Nail Art Black Sketch was sent to me for review. All opinions are my own.

Flowers in Bloom

Here is mani I did recently to match my soft lilac dress. I used 3 coats of OPI Ink, a shimmery dark purple, as my base coat. Next, I used China Glaze Electra Magenta, a pink holographic polish, to stamp on flowers using BM 224.

Goldie is a goodie

Here is a quick swatch of another gorgeous holographic nail polish from Goldie. Goldie 1 is a pretty pale lavender holographic polish that took 4 medium coats to be opaque and a little more time for drying. However, as you can tell, it is totally worth it. I really like this color!

Goldie in Stitches

Today is another Goldie nail polish that turned out to be quite a nice surprise. The color in the bottle totally did not represent how gorgeous it is on. Goldie 7 is a pretty medium pink holographic nail polish. I used 4 thin coats to achieve opacity. The dry time on this polish was longer than OPI/China Glaze but it was not as long as SkinFood. I am so glad I stumbled onto this color!

After a day, I stamped on a swirly pattern using my new Bundle Monster plate 9 with Essie In Stitches, a creamy dusty pink. I liked the subtleness of this design as it still allows me to see the gorgeousity of the holographic polish while given it a bit of elegant flair with the design.

Have you tried any Goldie polishes yet Polish Addicts?

Tronica Gradient

This gradient was inspired by dying Easter eggs! I used 3 different polished from the China Glaze Tronica line for this mani. I have heard great things about water marbling with these polishes and I will try it next. For this mani, I used 2 coats of Hyper Haute, a gorgeous deep pink holographic color as my base case and it applied wonderfully. Next, I sponged on Electra Magenta, a medium holographic purple, which blended nicely in. Finally, I contrasted the gradient with Techno Teal. Have a great Easter weekend Polish Addicts!

DS Extravagance

OPI DS Extravagance was something I picked up at a random nail place while waiting for the bus. I am sure that all you polish addicts know what I mean when you are constantly on alert for polish sales or HTF polishes. I saw that they were have a sale on OPI products, so after lurking outside for a bit, I went in. To my surprise, they had quite a few DS OPI products on sale, but only this color caught my eye. It is a gorgeous purple holographic color with a tint of red. It was opaque in 2 coats and looks utterly breathtaking in the light. So far, the entire OPI DS designer series that I own have not failed to impress...this is getting to be quite expensive. Oh OPI, why do you do this to me (not that I don't love you for it)?

DS Opulence

OPI DS Opulence is a deeper pink holographic with a slight hint of brown. It applied effortlessly and was opaque in 2 coats, much like its lighter counterpart DS Reserve. It is amazingly sparkly even in the shade, and much more so with flash. Another winner from the DS line from OPI!
