Broken Hearted Yellow

I have been trying to use crackle in different ways and here is another way I used it. I applied 2 thick coats of Color Club Almost Famous, a neon cream yellow, which was a little streaky. I waited for it to fully dry then applied China Glaze Broken Hearted, a bright pink crackle, in V shapes down the nail. The effect was kind of feather like and I really liked how it turned out. Lastly, I sealed it with a coat of Seche Vite to make it shiny looking.

Click here for a picture of crackle used diagonally. Thanks for reading Polish Addicts!

Shatter gradient

Today's Friday gradient is made up of the new colors from the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean line. I used Steady as She Rose, Mermaid's Tears, and Planks a Lot. Afterwards, I tried out OPI Silver Shatter but it is hard to tell the effect over light colors so I will use it over bolder colors soon. I alternated with OPI Black Shatter to show you the shatter difference. The shatter is finer in their black color. So far, I love the formulation and coverage of the polishes from this line...I think I may pick up the last 2 colors.

Polish more soon polish addicts!

Cracked liquid metal

Today I will show you the second crackle polish I bought from the China Glaze Crackle collection. Fault Line is a shimmery purple crackle that I swore I would buy when I saw swatches online and it definitely does not disappoint. I wore the crackle diagonally and I like how it looks! What do you think polish addicts?

For my base color, I used Nicole by OPI Miss Independent from their liquid metal collection. It is a gorgeous metallic light pink color that was opaque in 2 coats. It applied smoothly with no streaks. Gorgeous.

Cracked Concrete

During last weekend, I had the pleasure of going to Sallys for the first time and picking up polishes from the Crackle and Tronica line. China Glaze released 6 colors in their color line and I really love their formulation. I am wearing SkinFood OR004 as my base coat and China Glaze Cracked Concrete on top. I love this effect as it is so random. The formulation was super smooth and I like it more than OPI shatter. Polish addicts, make sure your base coat is completely DRY before applying crackle polish, it truly does make a big difference. I topped my manicure off with Seche Vite top coat which I also tried for the first time and am now madly in love.

Shattered Dream

I have been waiting for OPI Black Shatter to come out ever since I heard about its release. So when it finally came out, I went to pick it up along with OPI Teenage Dream from the new Katy Perry line because I am a sucker for pink.

OPI Teenage dream is a super sparkly and glittery pink that applies easily but removal will definitely take more time. I am wearing 2 coats in the picture, but I would probably wear 3 if I were to wear it alone.

OPI Black Shatter is the new polish they came up with that crackles into random spots upon application of one coat on top of a base coat. Black Shatter is driving me a bit insane. I like big blotches of splatter, as seen on my ring finger, and not thin lines of shatter, shown on my pinky. I have read and experimented with the amount of polish and the pressure of application, but I still cannot get how I want it consistently. Dear readers, do you have any suggestions? What do you think of this crackle effect? Yay or nay? I am still on the fence. I will wait for China Glaze Crackle Glaze Collection before I make my final decision.

PS – can you see I switched up the base color for my thumb, middle, and pinkie for the crackle? I am wearing Nicole by OPI One Less Lonely Glitter
