Products I'm Using...

It has been awhile since I wrote about some makeup. Here is a couple that I have recently tried:

Mary Kay hand cream is a nice peach scented hand cream that feels nice and moisturizes quite well. It absorbs into the skin quickly and I really like this! You can buy this here.

EOS lip balm smooth sphere in summer fruit and EOS everyday hand lotion are products that I am super happy I tried. I am always looking for moisturizing lip balms and hand creams, and really, who can ever have enough? The lip balm smells delicious and applies oh-so-smooth, while the hand cream smells nice and absorbs great. These babies switch bags with me every day.

Dr'.s Remedy Enriched Instant Cover is a concealer made for the body that is advertised to cover tattoos and spidery veins. I was intrigued to try this and went for the medium skin tone shade. I do not have any tattoos, but spidery veins and blemishes I do have, so I tried this out. This product has great coverage and it is also buildable. It truly does cover up almost anything! The only bad part is the applicator. It comes in a squeeze bottle with a sponge applicator tip. I found it hard to squeeze the product out from the sponge and therefore opted to take off the sponge and only use it for blending. Although it is not recommended for the face, I did try some on my face and it worked. You can buy this on their website and inquire more on their Facebook page.

What are some makeup products you have tried recently? Anything that you would buy again?

Dr'.s Remedy Enriched Instant Cover was provided to me for review. All opinions are my own.

Spring Love

Today is a quick post on my favourite products of the month in makeup. First up is Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose. I am a sucker for packaging and the cute hearts just drew me. It is a very nicely pigmented blush that smells amazing. It comes with a mirror and a blush applicator under the blush making it very portable. This is said to promote a feeling of happiness because of the ingredients that are used.

Next up is Clinique Bottom Lash mascara in Black with its adorable floral print packaging (see what I mean?). It is the perfect petite size brush with wide enough bristles for even and great application. My bottom lashes have never looked so good! It is said to last for 90 days and like all Clinique other products, it is 100% fragrance free and tested for sensitive eyes.

Polish Addicts, have you tried either of these products? What do you think?

Ruffian

The Ruffian look has been very popular lately, and many models have worn this on the runway. I was curious to see how it would look on me and attempted this last week. My first try was with greens and it did not turn out that great, so I cannot even post up pictures because I am so embarrassed! This manicure is a lot harder than it looks, I do not understand how some people can make it look so pretty! Anyways, this was my second attempt at a Ruffian manicure and I am pretty pleased with how it came out. I used OPI Alpine Snow as my base, and Sally Hansen Black out as my top color. Here is a mini guide on how to attempt one yourself –
1) Choose two colors that you think will look good together, some color combinations definitely look better!
2) Paint one or two coats of your lighter color
3) Paint one or two coats of the darker color ¼ up from the bottom of your nail (tips: start in the middle, then paint the right and then the left side of the nail to get the curved look)

You could use French guide tips for this as well if you want a more consistent look, just reverse them and stick them on. Otherwise, practice will make perfect freehand! Will you try a Ruffian manicure?

PS - Also, going along with fashion, Burberry has just released a new makeup line. I have read great things about the whole line and decided to try it out. I ended up buying a lipstick and cannot resist showing you (Blush No.09). It glides on effortlessly, super moisturizing, and the packaging is adorable. The tube has a magnetic cover and even the lipstick itself is imprinted with the famous Burberry plaid. Who could ask for more?

Mean and Green

As promised, here is the first swatch of one of the new nail polishes from MACs Maleficient line. Mean and Green is a duochrome foil nail polish that looks exactly like its name. Its pink with a green undertone and you can see both colors individually at certain angles. MAC brushes have never been my favourite, but this polish applied pretty well and the polish was opaque in 3 coats. A tip before applying this polish to get a even distribution of pink and green is to roll the bottle in your hand a couple times before you start applying. Its the first duochrome polish I have tried and I have gotten many compliments on it already! What do you think about duochrome polishes? Love it or hate it? Let me know! Thanks for reading.

PS – I took a picture of the other two makeup products that I love from the line. Pictured above: Truth and Light and Revenge is Sweet
