Gradient Friday : Minnie Mouse

I am so excited that OPI is releasing their new Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection. This collection consist of 4 colors in red and pink of course! I will show you some swatches soon, but I decided to use them for a gradient for this mani. I started out with 1 coats of a gorgeous red named The Color Of Minnie. Next, I sponged on I'm All Ears followed by If You Moust You Moust. Lastly, I stamped on some dots diagonally. I failed a bit in this as I was in such a hurry that I smudged it. Sorry! Hope you still enjoyed.

Polishes were sent to me for review. All opinions are my own.

ZigZag Refresh

Thought I would try taking pictures with instagram...that app is so addicting. I used Essence Ultimate Pink to stamp on a zigzag image with BM-201 plate to refresh my birthday caviar mani. Essence nail polishes seem to be great stamping polishes...maybe I will pick up a couple more.

Birthday Caviar

The caviar manicure is getting quite a bit of attention lately, so I thought I would try my own version of it for my birthday mani. I started off with OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! as my base coat. It is a very pretty lilac pink with subtle multi shimmer. This applied smoothly and was opaque in 3coats. Next, I used a clear top coat on my ring finger and sprinkled different colored multi-colored glass microbeads on top. I pressed them lightly down after sprinkling, and sealed this off with Seche Vite.

I am so glad I picked up these microbeads by Martha Stewart at Michaels! They can make so many awesome designs. To see more designs with these beads, click here and here!

Gradient Friday : Pink Edition

I am truly grateful and extremely fortunate to have such wonderful friends and family. I am so glad I got to spend my birthday with some of them and it was truly a fantastic time. Special thanks to one dear friend who took the time to make me a pink cake both inside and out! Since pink is my favorite color at the moment, it seems only fitting this week to do a recap on pink gradients I have done in the past. Enjoy.

Lemming : Essence Nail Art Twins

Today I am super excited to show you some polishes I've been lemming for a long long time. One of my sisters best friend was nice enough to pick up a set of these for me when she was in Germany. The limited edition polishes from Essence always makes me drool, but these nail art twins are my absolute fave. I have been looking for these online, since they don't sell in Canada, but no one was selling them. I shrieked with joy when I received these in my hands and can't believe I own them. This nail art twins set is inspired by the couple in Twilight, Bella and EdwardBella is a gorgeous cream aqua blue that was opaque in 2 coats and applied smoothly. Edward is a sparkly (...just like his skin in the sun! I know, I'm a dork.) blue and aqua glitter top coat which contains both square and round glitter. I used 2 coats on top of Bella and it's stunning. I love this combination so much! What do you think? Any readers out there were lucky enough to pick up any of these essence sets?

Gradient Friday : Happiness

Here is a gradient I did for my cousin's wedding. It was such a joyous and happy event and seeing my cousin so happy brought tears to my eyes. For this layer gradient, I used Canmake 45, a sheer bright jelly pink. To blend in all the layers, I used two coats of Canmake 33, a muted sheer pink sparkle polish. I finished this all off with Canmake Gel Volume Top Coat, which is a top coat that is supposed to make your nails look like gel nails. What do you think? Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading.

essence makeup in Vancity

Essence has finally arrived in CANADA! I finally hunted down a Shoppers in Vancouver that had the essence line in. I think I may have scared the salespeople there with my enthusiasm…picked up tons of great things aside from polishes. How can you resist when everything is 4.99 and under?

Fun Nail Sets

Remember back when I posted about Beauty World's awesome nail cocktail sets here, here, and here? Well, on my recent trip to Hong Kong, I discovered that they have been making more awesome sets that included some nail art tools and better instructions as well. Aren't these a good idea? People are so smart at marketing...and I am such a sucker for marketing.

Sneak Peek: HK Haul Part I

Hi all! I am back from my trip and it was wonderful. I got to see my family and friends and spent some much needed time resting, eating, and shopping! Here is a picture of the first part of my nail polish haul. I tracked down CanMake and bought some really cool polishes. The brown one is a texture coat that deposits sprinkles so you can make doughnut nails! I can't wait to try it out.
