Gradient Friday : Jammed Packed

It has been crazy hectic with trying to juggle everything in my life right now, so I thought it would be fitting to do a gradient that kind of reflects all the different parts of my life coming together. I started out with 2 coats of Essence nude glam café olé, a light beige cream, as my base. Next, I sponged on joe Periwinkle, a cream blue, on the top half of my nails. Following that, I stamped on the cracked lines from a BM plate using purple Konad polish. I finished this mani off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Gradient Friday : Breaking Dawn

If you are a follower on my instagram and twitter, you know that I was extremely excited to find the essence Twilight: Break Dawn part 2 line at my local Shoppers. I picked up all 4 colors so it's only fitting that I used one for this week's gradient Friday. I decided to use Jacob’s protection, a deep blue jelly polish with blue, silver and purple fine glitter, as my base. The formulation on this polish was a bit goopy and was a bit hard to apply. I added a few drops of my nail thinner (Seche Restore) and then it applied better. This polish takes a while to dry, so you need to be patient and not move around too much. I used China Glaze Angel Wings on my accent finger and also for my sponge gradient. Happy Friday!

Flower Stickers

I recently went to a wedding show with my friend Jen, and was inspired by the dresses seen at the show for this mani. I have lots of nail stickers lying around, so I decided to use these lacy flowers for this mani, since lots of the dresses at the show had really intricate lacy designs. For my base color I used essence sending you kisses, a bright pink cream polish, which applied smoothly but takes a bit of time to dry.

Hello Readers! I hope you have been well. The nights have been getting longer and the weather has been getting colder...The sun peeked out last weekend when I attended a wedding show so I decided to have some fun and play with some pink polishes! For my base, I used 2 coats of essence sending you kisses - a bright cream pink which takes slightly longer to dry. Next, I stamped on a cute pattern using BM plates with essie nothing else metals – a light pink chrome polish. I finished this look off with nails inc. westminister bridge, a matte topcoat, to tone down the manicure just a tad. Bundle up everyone!

Mystic Wish

This is a magnetic polish from the essence nail art magnetic collection. Mystic Wish is a dark silver polish that was pretty opaque in one coat. I used China Glaze magnet (diagonal stripes) on it since I did not have the essence magnet. It turned out pretty nice and looks awesome in the sun.

I don't give a Rotterdam!

This is two coats of OPI I Don't Give a Rotterdam!, a pretty slate blue cream shimmer from the OPI Holland line. I really like this color as it is quite versatile and I can match it with lots of clothing in my wardrobe. I stamped an image on it using Dr.'s Remedy Noble Navy. My thumb is double stamped with the bottom layer being essence walk on air. I kind of like the double stamp effect as it looks more 3D. What are your thoughts?

ZigZag Refresh

Thought I would try taking pictures with instagram...that app is so addicting. I used Essence Ultimate Pink to stamp on a zigzag image with BM-201 plate to refresh my birthday caviar mani. Essence nail polishes seem to be great stamping polishes...maybe I will pick up a couple more.

Lemming : Essence Nail Art Twins

Today I am super excited to show you some polishes I've been lemming for a long long time. One of my sisters best friend was nice enough to pick up a set of these for me when she was in Germany. The limited edition polishes from Essence always makes me drool, but these nail art twins are my absolute fave. I have been looking for these online, since they don't sell in Canada, but no one was selling them. I shrieked with joy when I received these in my hands and can't believe I own them. This nail art twins set is inspired by the couple in Twilight, Bella and Edward.  Bella is a gorgeous cream aqua blue that was opaque in 2 coats and applied smoothly. Edward is a sparkly (...just like his skin in the sun! I know, I'm a dork.) blue and aqua glitter top coat which contains both square and round glitter. I used 2 coats on top of Bella and it's stunning. I love this combination so much! What do you think? Any readers out there were lucky enough to pick up any of these essence sets?

Essence has finally arrived in CANADA! I finally hunted down a Shoppers in Vancouver that had the essence line in. I think I may have scared the salespeople there with my enthusiasm…picked up tons of great things aside from polishes. How can you resist when everything is 4.99 and under?

Irreplaceable Front Row Diva

I started off with one coat of Color Club Front Row Diva, which is a pearl oyster white polish. Next, I layered on 2 coats of essence Irreplaceable, a pretty sheer taupe polish with gold shimmer, on top. Finally, I added a layer of nails inc. matt topcoat on top to finish off the look. Which look do you prefer? Matte or Shine?

Festive Green Gradient Friday

The holidays are near, so I decided to try a festive green gradient Friday. I used one coat of Nubar Earth as my base color. It is a pretty shimmery teal green with teal sparkles and applied well. Next, I sponged on Essence Lime up! on my tips. Finally, I blended this manicure together using China Glaze He's going in circles, which is a light green holographic polish. I added some dots on the tips using Wet n' Wild Red Red and Sally Hansen White On. I stamped 2 festive bows on using fauxnad plate m59.

Limeade in the sun

Hello Polish Addicts, sorry I have not updated the past few days...blogger WAS supposed to upload, but it did not. It has been super sunny these past two days and I thought I would take some pictures in the sun. Essence Lime Up! is a creamy granny smith apple green that had good formulation and coverage. This was opaque in 2 coats. It is the first time I have tried a polish from essence and I must say I am impressed, especially at the cheap price point!

I wanted to try a triangle tape manicure I saw pictures of on Chloe's blog, but failed miserably. I cannot seem to get my triangles straight or the same size. I decided to post pictures anyways to show that practice will eventually make perfect, so everyone shouldn't despair! I used China Glaze Techno Teal for the triangles, a holographic teal color.
