Gradient Friday : Fiery Heat (Olympic Torch)

The Olympics are starting! I love watching the Olympics. There will be some Olympic nail art to come in the future. For today, I wanted to show you a gradient using 2 of the new OPI DS polishes. I used OPI Luxurious as my base color, and sponged on OPI Indulgence on the top half. Finally, I used Orly Emberstone on my tips. On my accent finger, I used the new nails inc. Piccadilly polish with the fishnet magnet. These are gorgeous foil colors that are perfect for summer.

Purple Surprise

I recently received some more Canmake polishes for my birthday and this one is another one. Canmake 38 is a pretty light lavender purple with subtle blue, pink, and purple shimmer. The consistency for this one was a bit lumpy and didn go on as smoothly as I hoped. This took 3 coats to be opaque. The weather here has started getting better so I am hoping to get more sunny shots!

Gradient Friday : Happiness

Here is a gradient I did for my cousin's wedding. It was such a joyous and happy event and seeing my cousin so happy brought tears to my eyes. For this layer gradient, I used Canmake 45, a sheer bright jelly pink. To blend in all the layers, I used two coats of Canmake 33, a muted sheer pink sparkle polish. I finished this all off with Canmake Gel Volume Top Coat, which is a top coat that is supposed to make your nails look like gel nails. What do you think? Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading.

Sneak Peek: HK Haul Part I

Hi all! I am back from my trip and it was wonderful. I got to see my family and friends and spent some much needed time resting, eating, and shopping! Here is a picture of the first part of my nail polish haul. I tracked down CanMake and bought some really cool polishes. The brown one is a texture coat that deposits sprinkles so you can make doughnut nails! I can't wait to try it out.

Basic Gradient

Today I am going to show you a basic but still pretty gradient. All you need is one color, preferable a polish that is more on the sheer side with a bit of sparkle. I used Canmake 37, a pretty medium sparkle jelly pink. First, you paint one layer on and let it dry. Next, you paint another layer on but only on the top 2/3 of your nail. Finally, paint your 3^rd layer on the top 1/3 of your nail and you will have a really nice gradient. The more parts you split you nail into, the smoother the look of your gradient. Keep in mind however that it will also result in more layers! I used 4 layers in mine and topped it off with Seche Vite. Hope you enjoyed.

Sparkling Christmas nails

Here is a quick design I did for a Christmas dinner. I was trying to do a gradual gradient but the two pinks I used were too similar so it is hard to tell in the pictures. I used The Body Shop Twinkling Pink and Canmake 32. Afterwards I added circular silver glitter near the tips in a random pattern.
